User Review for Nokia E51
A very competent phone in all that it does...
May 2, 2008Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: HSDPA, WIFI, Exhange Server compatible, Chinese, got-a-keypad, battery, value, LARGE buttons
Cons: Slightly smaller screen
Opinion:
A legend in the making, I've used this phone and is very very satisfied with a Nokia's product since a long time.
All that needs to be said is done in CNET's review, so just a couple of thoughts here.
I was an ardent Nokia supporter till when 6233 came out, and I got one. It's LCD cracked in the same week I got, and, if you are willing to take my words for it, I did not have the heart to bump anything to it, much less dropped it. With tender loving care, I drew the phone out of my pocket to stare at a broken LCD.
Same story as many people had told: went to Nokia shop, reply gotten - "LCD not covered, corrosion not covered, superficial not covered, accidental or human mistakes not covered (by warranty), sorry we will void your warranty...".
Disappointed... till I got E51 after 3 to 4 years of Nokia-brand healing and much convincing...
(pure) Joy for next 3 months as it got everything i need in a jeans-squeezable form factor, professional looking enough to be able to go into my suit pocket anytime.
Then can't turn on after 1 week of not using, as can't use camera phone at some places.
Same story as many people had told: went to Nokia shop, reply gotten - "LCD not covered, corrosion not covered, superficial not covered, accidental or human mistakes not covered (by warranty), we'll repair at S$130, sorry we will void your warranty...".
After seeing so many people at Nokia's Service Centre and Causeway Point and the relative calmness of Samsung's service centre, I guess it's time...
