User Review for i-mate Ultimate 9502

Usage update

Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: Everything
Cons: No FM Radio, Up on the D-pad is difficult to press.
Opinion:
I have been using this for for the past week.
The GPS connection is really fast, I was on the Eten M700 before this and that was using Sirfstar chip, but this phone gets a fix much faster, I am using Agis Navigator and it takes only about 10 seconds provided you are not in a moving vehicle. Unbelievable !

The call quality is nothing short of excellent !
The sound during calls is clear and crisp on both ends.
And the speaker on this thing is really LOUD !

Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections are without problems as far as I have been using, and Data transfer speeds for all connections (GPRS, Wi-Fi, USB) are noticeably faster than any other PDA Phone I have ever used.
I transfered a 24MB FLV file via usb to the storage card in 45 seconds.

The interface is suprisingly fast too, e.g. try entering the windows folder with file explorer, you get in alot faster than other PDA phones, this is the first time I'm using the qualcomm processor MSM7200 ARM11 - 400MHz. and I can tell you that no other PXA270 400MHz processor based PDA can beat the speed on this thing.

The funny thing is that though this unit has 128mb RAM, you only have about 33mb left even before you installed anything. Initially I thought that would cause problems, Especially if I run alot of Today Items, but suprisingly, after installing a ton of apps, I still have 29 to 30 mb left.

DivX video, WMV, FLV, MP4 and Flash formats I have tested and the results Good.
For Video playback of DivX and FLV files on TCMP Player you have to set the player's video driver to use RAW frameBuffer or else video will be choppy.

Heres a list of what I have installed:
SPB Mobile Shell
SPB Diary
SPB Weather
SPB Pocket Plus
SPB Imageer
Pocket Digital Clock
LVM Time
Today Panel Pro
EffCpmm
Pocket Music
TCMP Player
Bryht Flash Player

Strip 4 You (XXX)

THIS IS THE BEST PDA PHONE I HAVE EVER USED ! - PERIOD !

STILL MINUS 1 POINT FOR NOT INCLUDING THE FM RADIO !!!
i-mate COULD HAVE GIVEN THAT TO US FOR $1348 !!!

But luckily my i-tech bluetooth sterio headphones have FM radio. So I guess I can live with that ridiculous exclusion.
