User Review for Nokia 6110 Navigator
Excellent phone for its price
Oct 20, 2007Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: GPS, HSDPA, nice screen, very loud speakers, fast processor
Cons: Sub-par camera quality, average battery life, no Wi-Fi, small keypad
Opinion:
I've been using this phone for almost 2 months now. For the price, I'm very satisfied with it.
The GPS is pretty good, I find it to be helpful in many cases, especially the turn-by-turn voice navigation. The maps aren't that updated thopugh, and I really hate the fact you have to pay for additional maps as I thought every map was already included in the package.
I noticed that the phone is quite speedy when browsing through menus (unlike my mate's N73). The screen is bright and sharp, and the external speakers on this phone is probably the loudest on a phone that I've come across, though it is awkwardly placed at the bottom rear part where one would usually hold the phone.
The camera though, not surprisingly, is just average. Anything less than a well-lit area would produce noisy pictures. The lack of AF means images didn't turn out sharp enough. At least the flash is pretty bright, useful to light up small areas.
The slider is sturdy yet addicting. I find myself sliding it just for fun. The keypad, although small, is still quite comfortable. However, the navigation pad is so small I kept pressing the wrong button. i.e., I accidentally pressed the 'Navi' button when trying to press down; pressed the red 'end' button when trying yo press right etc. This is frustrating especially when you're in the middle of a game, for example.
Battery life is average, the best I can get is just three days (3G off). Typical usage (several calls, several SMS, 1 hour of web and music with BT off) needs the phone to recharge every 2 days at best.
Despite these minor niggles, this is a rock solid phone with pretty much faultless features. I'm glad I bought it and would definitely recommend it.
