User Review for Motorola Rizr Z3

Mar 25, 2007Rating: 8 out of 10 (Excellent)
Pros: Nice to hold, features packed, compact , long lasting battery and look good!
Cons: Poor sound, Not 3G, Menu system & Data Communication Not supported by Motorola Phone Tools
Opinion:
For the first slide series of Motorola, Z3 is definitely made to outshine other brands. It is slick and features packed. It has all the current must have features including 2mp camera, bluetooth, external memory (MicroSD might be the cheapest memory currently in the market), fabulous color display and slim factor.
On top of feature, the casing design of my black Z3 version is polished with rubber feel skin. The rubber provide ergonomic design that nice to hold as well as easy sliding the phone. However, Motorola decided to paste a thumb grip that appear to be a late adjusment to the design as it is merely glued (which subject to wear and tear easily).
I must admit the the display color quality of this phone is outstanding, much much better than my older SE W800i. It becomes more obvious if you watch video clips using this phone.
Menu system definitely need improvement. Somehow, if you are used to SE menu system, Motorola will place the button exactly at the opposite place. For example the 'space' and 'back' buttons, although somehow motorola agree that 'call' button should be on the left hand side of the phone.
Currently, this phone is supported by the Motorola Phone Tools. Backing up and synchronising the outlook data, sms and emails on the phone to your PC is not as easy as for the other model. Notably, the standard package of the phone does not come bundled with any driver or software for the data communication. Though transferring other files (photos and mp3) can be done thru the built-in data transfer mode using USB cable.
Overall, this phone is a good consideration if you are looking for a slim Slider phone.
