User Review for Motorola RAZR V3i
Ehhhhh....
Dec 22, 2006Rating: 6 out of 10 (Good)
Pros: Slim & light weight
Cons: Battery life, softwate hang
Opinion:
I used to keep Mot V690, which had a much better battery life than v3i. V690 was able to run 3 days or more for my type of usage (light user). And with V690, even if the charge remaining is less than 50%, it would most likely last the whole day.
The v3i is a clear loser in this matter. Once you see it lack one bar on the battery meter, count the hours - and you do not even need to make calls for the battery to drain. For example, if the meter changed to 2 bars just b4 you go to bed, then in the morning you will be greeted with the beep indicating a flat battery! What a pity Motorola. I do not understand why the keypad and internal LCD back lights need to be on (till the timeout of 20 seconds or more) when you close the phone ? Changing this (unwanted) feature will save some power for sure.
Second problem is about the software hang. Some times the keypad stops responding for a few seconds. Then the screen backlight will turn off - then on back. After this the keypad will behave normally.
Although Motorola has improved a lot and tried to follow the trend and technology that many of us are looking for, there is still a long way to go.
So my suggestion to any one looking for this phone is - think twice about the battery life. It would probably give u only 1.5 days of life after each full charge even if you are a light user.
