User Review for Samsung Ultra Edition 11.8
An excellent "must have" cell phone with just about all the functionalities a cell user requires
Oct 18, 2006Rating: 8 out of 10 (Excellent)
Pros: Slim, sturdy, light wt, crisp sound & voice quality, great graphics & resolution, abundant memory
Cons: keys need geeting used to, battery life is about adequate, front display screen a bit too small
Opinion:
AKA SGH-D830, the thinnest tri-band, feature packed clamshell I've ever used (9.9 mm to be exact) is overall an excellent cell phone. Got mine in Black. Samsung has truly come out with a unique cell phone with a whopping 80 MB of internal storage capacity, with a micro SD card slot (memory card not included). I have been a Nokia/SE user for number of years but since using this phone for the past two weeks I find it to be the perfect cell phone available in the market for my requirements. Obviously not a replacement for a Pocket PC, love my Dopod 838 pro for its uses!! I paid US$330 for this set, which is alright! The slim design (which surprisingly fits perfectly into the hand)and light weight is a great PLUS, easy to slip into jeans (quarter pocket) and in front pocket of a shirt feels quite light, easy to use menu, excellent graphics and resolution, battery life is ok, needs charging for normal usage every 24 hrs. Has a sharp 2 MPX camera which shoots crisp and vibrant pics & videos, and an integrated MP3 player. The other side of the picure, i.e. the "cons," includes only one serious shortcoming, i.e. not too easy to use keyboard. The rest are acceptable cons (in my view), which includes overall metallic plastic finish with a metal battery cover, small front cover-screen with average display, though it indicates the CLI by scrolling the number/callers name, alarm, msg, signal and battery icons. The SMSs when received are stored in the SIM (for some odd reason), thus limiting the number of SMSs received. One needs to either delete the SMS or move them to phone memory for long-term storage!
In conclusion, buy one now...it's worth more than what I paid for it!
