User Review for Sony Ericsson K608i
Best Value 3G Phone
Aug 24, 2006Rating: 8 out of 10 (Excellent)
Pros: Good design, great screen, outstanding multimedia
Cons: No external memory
Opinion:
I have been using this phone for 4 months and I am very satisfied by the performance. The one I like most is the bluetooth functionality that is faster when I transfer files/photos between the phone and my laptop.
The screen (256K color) is bright and clear. The FM radio tuner is very good (it supports RDS!). You can listen to it through the earphone (which is also a handsfree) or from phone's external speaker. The sound produced by earphone is great (solid bass, not like typical cheap earphone).
The picture taken using the 1.3 MP camera is fairly good, but tend to degrade in low-light condition (high distortion). For those that like to take picture, limited built-in memory can be a limitation, since this phone doesn't have external memory, but for me as I always have my laptop around I can transfer the photos from the phone to computer immediately.
GPRS works very well, fast and reliable (although it also depend to the network to which you are connected). I can even install Opera mini browser (Java app.) so I can browser the web using HTML instead if WAP/WML.
Too bad the 3G network is still not available in my area so I can't tell the performance of video call, streaming, ETC.
One little dissapointment is that a couple week ago it can't be turned on (blank screen). I brought it to sonyericsson service center and they said it was software glitch. They just did software upgrade, and the phone is back to normal again since then.
But still I would recommend this phone, it has great capability and quality at fairly low price!
