User Review for Nokia 8800
A phone that is almost perfect
Jul 3, 2006Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: Unique, Classy, Contemporary.
Cons: Battery life
Opinion:
I really puzzled at some of the rating that people give and wonder if they really used this phone at all? But everyone is entitled to their opinion. For people who are looking for a phone that has "Fantastic" features, high res cameras, bombastic memory space. This is not the phone for you. Nokia 8800 is a phone that caters to people who wants to be differ from others. Having carried the phone for more than half a year, I must said this is the best phone that I have used so far. I do not need a fantastic camera, I will rather use my Sony digi cam for that function. I dun need a huge storage space for MP3s, I have my Zen Micro. All I need is a PHONE. And Nokia 8800 did just that. Holding this phone will draw many attention from your colleagues or your friends, but most of the time the hear of the price will create a "are you mad or what?" look on their face. But time and time again, they can't help but keep asking you to allow them to have a look of it. The phone is rather heavy, because it is not made of plastic casing that coated with silver coat to look like a metalic phone. The phone is made from true metal case. The screen is scratch resistant, I understand from my friend it is actually ceramic glass, which is a harder glass than the normal ones. The premium service you got from Nokia care centre allows you to skip all the queue and to be served as soon as there is a care consultant available. No queue needed. 2 years warranty is another plus point to have. It did not get a perfect point from me due to the fact that the battery life is pretty dissapointing sometimes. Especially you are in a midst of an important call. If the battery is fully charge, there should be no problem for you though. BTW, the ringtone is uniquely for Nokia 8800 too, no other Nokia phone can have them, the ringtone has been protected, hence you can "bluetooth" it to anyone else. Great phone, simply love it.
