User Review for Sony Ericsson K700i
Average package
May 8, 2006Rating: 7 out of 10 (Very good)
Pros: Excellent build, coloured screen and functions
Cons: Laggy. Buttons hard to press after prolonged use. VGA camera. Poor memory space
Opinion:
Considering the price of the phone now, its a pretty okay buy. I bought this phone 1 1/2 years back which costed me 300sgd with plan and it is now lying dead in its package box.
If you are the type that presses hard on your keypads, avoid joysticks phone such as k700i. Infact, many of such joysticks phones gather much dust after 2-3 months of usage. And slowly it becomes more and more insensitive to keypresses.
Camera is ok, except sometimes when you take a shot, there is this annoying shutter sound. Its fixed in later versions of the phone though.
Mp3 replay is pretty okay. Its always good to have an equalizer in built in the phone. Still, its not so good compared to other expandable memory phones. 41 megabytes could bare fit much. If you are going fot a mp3 phone, get the more recent phones such as the sony ericsson W series phones.
Bluetooth is a bit buggy still, turning the bluetooth on k700i on trains or anywhere packed might be a little bit risky, as there are bluesnarfers everywhere... And the only way to stop it is to force shutdown the phone.
Oh, and the rubbery thing at the bottom that is suppose to protect the phone from dust from entering the connecting sockets is of bad design. Its rubber will degrade fast. If you do charge your phone often, common removal of the rubber cover would make it less able to "stick" onto the phone. Hard to explain this one...
Viewing photos in the gallery is laggy too. especially if you got too many stuff inside the phone. Lag time differs from about 5-10 seconds.
Stickers on the phone such as the "connect" and the "quickshare" will drop off quick. Trust me. Other than that, the phone looks pretty neat, just do not scratch the screen.
