this is my 1st time using samsung phone. after using it for more then 5 days, its kind of ok and user friendly once u are used to its interface, even though its features may not be as much as SE or Nokia. Its indeed a practical phone for those who hv 2 sim card, not so troublesome as in u need to carry two phone. The price i paid for it was around SGD630, but i think its worth the price and the sensitivty of the touch is better then omnia and HTC which I tried it before using my friend's.those who hv more then one line, u can consider this. the camera is good just lack of wifi... the download speed is pretty fast too. overall is GOOD... and the size is compact and handy.. its comes with extra batt and desk top charger, which is good... and pouch. the batt can last up to 2 days, if u just sms and seldom call..
overall, satisfied and happy...
I agree about the D980

Hi,I read your comments. I just posted a review too - similar opinion. A compromise on many things but good enough.
So is there a detailed PDF about the software and interface usage? I am having trouble getting everything set up. Is there a web site to download applications?
Thanks
Barry

PC Studio take care with installing it

Hi, I saw a "NSMain" error. At FixYa we found how to fix the problem. See this link. Ask a guy called Ginko. www.fixya.com...Secondly, I could now sync with Outlook contacts and Outlook calendar for several months. This is much better than I expected.
The contacts sync gave me a timeout so I exported contacts to VCF then imported to the phone.
OK. I am ready to travel now.
Bye.
Memory Problem - Cannot read Sim Card any more
Sep 29, 2009 01:00 AM
In the past three months this phone has stopped reading my Sim card. The Samsung people in London UK seemed to fix it but when I changed the Sim card it stopped working again. I am going to backup and then reset the phone. I'll update on what happens.Otherwise, it is still a good phone. They are selling lots of them in Europe (Portugal I saw them on special). I wish the support was better on-line. They are still rare in most places so the features are hard to use.

29/09/2009How to fix the "Not Allowed" message when D980 decides to ignore your memory card.
Answer:
Just reset the phone settings in the screens as shown in this link. Paste into your browser.

p.s.
Firstly, remember that D980 does not take more than 2GB cards.
Format of the card is the store defaults or FAT32 if you format it outside the phone.

I just bought one and love it so far. My problem is when I try to sync with outlook I have too many contacts (2500) and can't figure out a way to edit or prioritse them to match the 2000 contact limit. Any ideas please? I don't have to sync and so could import a file but still haven't figured out how - help! Thanks
