Cyber-Shot Camera.....

Just out of curiosity, but with a branding like Cyber-Shot, why does this phone not have an optical zoom?

Because it's still a camera-phone. To be honest, I don't even think we'll see a very successful implementation of optical zooms down the road because people now want (err, expect?) their phones to be wafer thin. Think about it though, this is pretty impressive given this segment's humble beginnings (S700i and K700i), at least as far as Sony is concerned. Owned both models and a couple of the ones that came after and loved them all. Sure wouldn't mind owning this baby!

actually someone has come up with a less expensive and more compact focusing lens with optical zoom awhile back. I'm surprise it is still not implemented in any phones yet.

no branded lens though, unlike nokia or samsung. but sony has good interface to use. cant talk abt camera quality yet as we havent tested

Ohhhh, it's so cool! I mean, it's the best phone choice for phototakinglovers like me?! LOLs. Can't wait to see its arrival in Singapore! Can someone give me a rough date on when it's coming? People are saying during eng of October & before X'mas. It totally confused me. Thanks:)
