s500i keypad
Sep 28, 2007 07:36 AM
I've bought the s500i when it was launched in July. One month after using it, the keypad began to crack. I have sent it to the service centre to be replaced. That was in August. The Sony Service Centre personnel assured me that the replaced keypad was of a better quality. However, now, in late September, the replaced keypad started to crack again. If this is the way it goes, means that I would have to replace the keypad every month!! I called up the service centre to ask about the keypad which kept cracking. The guy said on the line that I can keep changing the keypad for as long as the phone is under warranty. However, after the warranty period is over, should I need to change the keypad, I will be charged for the cost of the keypad (S$16) and labour costs (S$30). This problem of the keypad is obviously due to design defect (on the part of the manufacturer). So, is it right that the consumer have to bear the costs for this defect? I really like the phone but it is really stupid if this goes on. What would you advise? Thanks.keypad cracks ???
