Half-baked, content-eating monster

Cons: Extremely frustrating and slow recorder
Opinion:
i've been using this recorder for some time for timer recordings and its gotten me using very colourful language since I got it.
First impression was good: All format, +RDL too, large HDD, smooth UI. After using it for some time my advice would be to stay away from it (and maybe all Hitachi recoders).
Startup is very slow. And as you add content into the HDD, the startup gets even slower. So much so that I had to set the internal clock a minute ahead so that I will not miss the beginning of timer-recordings.
The set tends to hang very easily which requires a soft reboot (wait 2 mins for startup again). When the set hangs or I do a title delete on the HDD, other recorded titles disappear. This became so annoying that the first thing I do nowadays is edit out the ads and transfer to a DVDR. ... Read more
