The good: Excellent recording quality; long recording time; solid build; user-friendly interface/menu; value-added features.

The bad: No component input; no coaxial digital output; a bit pricey.

The bottom line: This Pioneer DVR has excellent recording quality and many value-added features but lacks a complete set of connectivity.

Good buy

Pros: tons of features
Cons: no DVD+R??
Opinion:
I would have bought this if not for the lacking DVD+R media support for recording. DVD+R is much cheaper and more easily available as compared to DVD-R. So, I'm a little disappointed with that. Also no HDMI interface? Pity.

Haven't have the time to read the manual but still able to record all kinds of things for my daughter. It shows the virtue of this recorder. Either this or I'm really good (which is not likely).
