The bad: High-speed dubbing works only on DVD-RAM discs; TV Guide EPG is still somewhat glitchy and not compatible with satellite TV; remote scrollwheel is more hindrance than help; no FireWire input.
The bottom line: Panasonic's top-of-the-line recorder boasts eye-popping recording quality, but its programming guide may pose a setup challenge with some cable systems.

Pity no DVD-R +R dubbing
Jan 9, 2006Rating: 5 out of 10 (Average)
Pros: tons of features
Cons: As above pity no HI-dub for non-DVD-RAM
Opinion:
DVD-RAM is still fairly expensive and not compatible with the general lot of DVD players around. One good reason for a consumer to burn a DVD from the HDD is to lend it to friends and family and without support for High-speed dubbing for Non-DVD-RAM disks, this product losses its edge to other lesser products.
Excellent recording quality

Lots of features that you didn't think you might need until you actually use the machine. Easy to use, well-made, fantastic recording quality.
