Sony gives pricing for its 2009 HDTVs for Singapore

By Philip Wong, CNET Asia

We just had a sneak preview of the Japanese electronics giant's 2009 HDTV lineup slated for the Republic. This combines two 2008 series with this year's new entries, comprising KLV and KDL models. The former has only analog TV tuner, while the latter comes with Integrated Digital TV. For a quick look at the breakdown of the offerings and their pricing and availability, here's what we know.

New 2009 entries
The S5, V5, W5 and Z5-series Bravia models are the direct replacements for last year's entries. Its S5 line is subcategorized into the KLV-S570 and KLV-S550, while the W5 consists of the KDL-W5500 and eco-friendly KDL-WE5.

2008 models newly launched in Singapore
For the ultraslim HDTV segment, Sony is debuting its LED-edgelit LCD TVs, the ZX1-series, originally launched globally in late 2008.

2008 models already launched in Singapore
The T4 and flagship X4-series are making a comeback in 2009. The company's spokesperson clarified that both lines will continue for the rest of this year.
