HDTVsAt the forefront of aesthetics are the sexy Scarlet 2 LH70 LCD TVs. These sleek 40mm-thick panels inherit the series' original high-fashion theme, characterized by a bright red rear bezel and huge transparent power button that shimmers in white. The LH70 is not just about style, it's one of the rare gems in the market to offer Bluetooth connectivity. This opens up possibilities, including wireless headphone support for late night movie marathons and cable-free multimedia streaming through Bluetooth gadgets such as mobile phones. For sports and action flick junkies, LG has positioned its LH50-series as a fast-motion HDTV enhanced by TruMotion 200Hz technology. This function doubles the LH70's 100Hz engine to further reduce motion judder and accelerates LCD response time to a blazing-fast 2ms. The LH50 is probably one of the first HDTVs in the region to wear the latest DivX HD badge, too, allowing it to playback 1080p videos via an onboard USB 2.0 port. The other formats supported are MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4 and H.264 in various file extensions covering MKV Blu-ray rips based on its user manual. Bargain hunters can also check out LG's entry-level LH35-series LCD TVs. Affordability aside, they offer good value with a combination of future-proofed full-HD screen resolutions, integrated DVB-T digital tuners and three HDMI inputs. On the plasma end of the spectrum, there's the HD-ready LG PQ60-series available in 42- and 50-inch sizes. These panels boast a high 2 million:1 dynamic contrast, which is twice as high as their 2008 equivalent. There's also a stepped-up 600Hz sub-field drive circuit to improve overall picture fluidity and to yield a record 0.001ms response time. Key specifications at a glance
