LG claims six world's first for its 2009 TV lineup
The company's LH90-series (LH90 and LH95) LCD panels are being touted as the world's slimmest LED-backlit TV with local dimming technology, while the premium LHX and LH85 offerings deliver what LG claims is the world's first wireless 1080p full-HD technology to reduce cable clutter.
LG's collaboration with Yahoo! for its Widget Service is seen as a first, too. This service is available on both the LH50 and PS80 which also offer streaming from Netflix and YouTube and access to Flickr photos via LG's Ethernet-based NetCast Entertainment Access utility. (This is currently available in the US only.)
Also noteworthy is LG's use of Super In Plane Switching (S-IPS) panels (which provide better images even at extreme viewing angles) for its latest TV range, as well as a new Picture Wizard function to help consumers calibrate their set for optimal images. The company was unable to confirm at press time which of the panels would ship to Asia. Tags: 1080p, TV, LG Electronics Inc., LCD, LCD TV | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
