The Bravias have mushroomed! If you have been craving for more Sony Bravia LCD TVs, seems like your prayers are finally answered. The Japanese company has just released an update on its latest 2007 Asia models. Hot off the press are 16 spanking new panels of varying screen sizes and capabilities. A follow-up to the recently announced Bravia Vs, they include a couple of debut lineups from its W-, D-, U- and G-series. That’s besides the overhauled Bravia X with a new video-processing engine.
Also wearing the full-HD badge is the W-series. These offer comparable specs and capabilities with the above flagships. Putting aside their less-than-flattering facades, these boast 16,000:1 dynamic contrast and PhotoTV HD mode. This, as it claims, bridges onscreen photo visual quality against actual print. A different Bravia Engine EX processor wraps up the remaining key differentiator between the two 1080p lineups.
At the bottom of the echelon are the U- and G-series. The former is the closest match to its now-defunct S-series, packing mainly no-frills specifications targeted at value-conscious consumers. Having said that, there is a single HDMI and dual component-video sockets, all future-proofed with 1080p compatibility. Last but not least, the petite KLV-20G300A has a standard 4-by-3 aspect ratio screen which makes this perfect for standard-definition TV broadcast. | ||||||||
