CeBIT '07: Sharp ultra-definition
It's only at the prototype phase at the moment, but it's a 64-inch screen with a resolution of about 4,000 x 2,000 pixels, which basically gives it a resolution of 8.8 megapixels. We feel it's important to point out that a 1080p television has a resolution of just 2 megapixels, so it's fair to say this kicks HD up the bottom and then makes an insulting comment about its mother.
Sharp hasn't decided when or whether to commercialize it yet, but we can only hope it will be available in time to see the next high-definition disc format war rise out of the ashes of the Blu-ray vs. HD-DVD scuffle. This story appeared originally in Crave UK.
