By Staff,Philip Wong

Eyeing an LCD TV but finding it hard to cough out the big money that goes along with sizeable makes and models? Why not settle for any of the following stylish 32-inchers which have dazzled our reviewers and readers alike with their rich saturated colors and sharp pictures.

They also offer a reasonably sized display ideal for small living rooms, and are whoppers for personal entertainment. What's more, with a high-definition panel and digital HDMI interface, your investment is futureproofed for next-gen A/V boxes such as Xbox 360, Blu-ray and HD-DVD spinners.

4.  Hitachi 32LD9800TA (32-inch LCD)

If you are an enthusiast or videophile with an eye for tantalizing figures, the 32LD9800TA is what you have been waiting for. Putting aside the standard 1,366 x 768-pixel resolution, the popular In-Plane Switching LCD panel promises a class-leading 10,000:1 dynamic contrast. This is complemented by a wide 178-degree viewing angle and fast 7ms response time. The only other rating that is rather down to earth here is its 500cd/m2 brightness which is still a notch higher than some of its peers.

5.  LG 32LC7R (32-inch LCD)

Besides sporting a highly sought-after Super-IPS panel, the 32LC7R also delivers an ultra-high 10,000:1 dynamic contrast. This topples the 8,000:1 numbers hawked by the Editors' Choice Samsung Bordeaux Plus, though the LG's modest 1,000:1 average contrast indicates a rather unrealistic 10-fold leap. Having said that, we are pretty sure this LG is still an enticing model on paper, taking everything into consideration, particularly the panel's blazing-fast 5ms response time and industrial-leading 178-degree viewing angle.
