JVC misread the market

Pros: Low price, decent panel
Cons: Ragged image, poor sound, so so contrast
Opinion:
Unless you get a killer price, such as 30% of list, stay away from this set. It is really not worth it. Out of the boox it feels cheap. The static contrast is 1200, much lower than the competing qualtiy products (2000-3000) out there on the market. The image is quite noisy even with a high quality source. I was watching soccer with a upgrade 1080i source and the players appeared smeared. The edges of large white characters were initially smeared. The sound is below par for htis kind of set, sounding very flat and thin. So every time there is motion you get video noise. For the slow moving images in the demo that is fine but try it with a real action movie and you will see what I mean. Great picture & good price & very high spec, a definite BEST BUY LCD

Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: Very good contrast, great picture quality, even for SD quality picture (from the cable system) - thanks to the new 2007 XD engine. S-IPS LCD panel also deliver good color and a darker black
Cons: Weak speaker (not an issue for really as I hv home theather system), and quick access on remote control to change the picture mode ...hv to do it manual by navigating thru the MENU
Opinion:
All LCD will shows great picture of HD quality source but when display a normal SD quality source (like the analog cable system), the quality tend to drop drastically. But this is not the case for this TV, it shows almost as good as my CRT TV when showing the SD picture. And with it super fast 5ms response time, the picture is so smooth. I would recommend this to everyone that what a LCD but still watching SD quality picture. You wont regret it.
