The bad: No-nonsense design; poor onboard control placement; basic feature sets.
The bottom line: The midrange Sony Bravia KLV-40V300A delivers excellent picture quality but lacks the fine aesthetics of its competitors.

Excellent choice
Sep 5, 2008Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: Picture Quality, Outsdanding Colours.
Cons: Huh?
Opinion:
I had made a mistake and purchased Philips FullHD LCD first. Within 10 days returned it to the store as it had an unexplained noise while on. Lucky the store allowed an exchange, and I was being realistic, so chose this TV instead. The picture is clearer on this TV than it was on a Philips FullHD!!! Also, while I have never been a fan of Sony before, I think from now on I will stick with the brand - the build quality is exceptional! Now also bought BRAVIA HDMI Recorder, and I will never look back.
Great TV with great value for money

Pros: Best colors in the market. Bravia engine is great in SD upscaling and noise reduction
Cons: Noticeable motion trails when camera panning at medium speed
Opinion:
I think every one knows how Sony colors are stunning and unmatched in the market. But what really surprised me about this TV was how good the standard definition satellite TV looks. It seems Bravia engine really does wonders in upscaling, and you can even enhance the picture by controlling MPEG noise reduction. Not only TV but DVD's also looked wonderful although played from PS2 through regular cables. Same applies for divx and downloaded HD files played from the PC. The only problem is that you can notice the motion trails on camera panning at medium speed (you don't notice it if the camera is moving at slow or fast speeds).
Before buying this TV, I spent months reading reviews and comparing technologies, vendors, resolutions etc.. First I was interested in the "latest and greatest" technologies with 1080p and 120hz etc.. Then I became more realistic. I thought of what I'm going to buy the TV for. ... Read more

Pros: Excel in colour
Cons: Pricey and still like others
Opinion:
I went to the sony centre and suddenly i feel out of the world while watching ice age 2 on this V series. it took me almost 10 minutes without a word. Then i customer came in and stand behind me. he even not breath for a while. He said no wonder its pricey. Then i go further and look for the source. the sales rep said its from blu ray. i ask him to connect to ASTRO, and he seems refuse at first but thank god for my PR. i watched live soccer game and suddenly i was shock at the pic. BLURRRRRRed. So, my opp, the LCD nowdays are just superb for DVDs and not for non HD broadcast. To malaysian, ASTRO are sucks. i still give this TV's 7/10 for no 120 mhz
