Solid LCD screen with beautiful design
Nov 28, 2007Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: The picture quality is amazing and the design is so sleek and modern
Cons: the sound system lacks punch
Opinion:
Been using this TV for about 6 months and never once regretted shelling out my money for this wonderful TV. The picture quality is good, especially when watching HD content (I'm using Starhub's HD Set-top box which came free with a 12 months subscribtion with this TV) and DVDs.
The colour contrast is good, there is the "3D" effect and even when fast moving scenes come up, the picture is still smooth as silk. As for non HD and DVD contents, of course, the picture quality will not be as sharp but definitely not as grainy and pixelated as earlier model LCD TVs. I have no problem watching non HD content on this TV at all.
The only downside is the speakers. It lacks punch, feels muted and subdued. Luckily I do not listen to the sound output from the TV's speakers as I have the TV hooked up to my home theatre. In any case, Samsung is giving ... Read more

Apr 29, 2007Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: Picture quality excellent. Resolution-wise, goud output, very pleasing to watch at length,.
Cons: Poor bass response, due to size constraint. Bass is distorted
Opinion:
Bought this set after much research on various brands and listening to forum discussions on the internet. Went personally down to various large department stores and listened to sale people's recommendations and watched actual picture reproductions. Finally decided on this set as the picture reproduction was on par or even better than costlier sets with famous brand names. However failed to listen to the audio reproduction as all sets in the display showrooms were on mute so as not to cause a ruckus if every set's audio were turned on. Found out only when the set was delivered that bass was non-existent or if present, produced a distorted sound like a low-level rumbling just like watching the movie "EARTHQUAKE". It also went "bok" "bok" "bok" instead of "boom" "boom" "boom". It can be disconcerting. Thought it was just my particular set was problematic so called in the engineers. After listening to my ...
