The bad: A bit pricey; image suffers from combing; tuner's picture quality looks terrible.
The bottom line: The color saturation and skin tone reproduction are very good, but with the problems of combing and an average performing TV tuner there are better value-for-money alternatives out there.

Disappointment from Sony
Mar 21, 2007Rating: 6 out of 10 (Good)
Pros: Accurate Color and Slim
Cons: Tiny speaker and Scaler Perfomance
Opinion:
We expect more from Sony, and at this price. It consists of veri good sound processor, but is paired with cheap speakers. I wonder how to output BBS and TruSurround features performance. The image processor is average, no DCDi or impressive engine. The contrast of LCD panel is grade 2, may not be the best Sony Panel. Good point is the TV tuning, 3D comb filter, MPEG noise reduction, intuitive OSD, and color accuracy.
After CNY, price drops around 30%. Buy it now if u r sony fans.
Not great, not bad, just Good Pictures (Part 2)
Sep 14, 2006Rating: 7 out of 10 (Very good)
Pros: Great looking Cable TV programmes!
Cons: Poor Sound
Opinion:
Sorry about the multiple posts earlier.
Just want to clarify that when I said 'Most LCD sets have terrible TV images' I was referring to normal Mediacorp and cable TV shows. This is really the best test on how clear a 4:3 standard definition program is when displayed in a 16:9 resolution.
I also want to highlight to CNET that they should have a section on normal TV testing. All the reviews about differences and variations on the colour and the brightness and whatever while watching DVD programming on different LCD sets is probably not noticeable by 90% of the population. Do the true test based on TV programmes that will show clearly the TV features.

Forget about DVDs and HD programmes, you're gonna watch mainly TV programmes on these TV sets and that is what you must judge it on. C'mon CNET start testing on normal programming in your reviews!) Many LCD sets have terrible TV images but this set was quite clear with little noise. For $1599 and 5yrs warranty its a good buy! Only problem is the terrible 10w speakers it has, it's much worse than my old 21" CRT TV. Only way to get around this is to connect it to your Hi-Fi.
