The bad: Mild low-level video noise; mousy audio; scratch-prone.
The bottom line: The beautifully crafted Samsung LA40R71B is a competent LCD TV that emphasizes aesthetics over performance.

Pros: Attractive design & pricing
Cons: Unacceptable sound & picture quality
Opinion:
I bought it because the design is attractive and the pricing. I have surveyed many plasma and LCD screens and was set on the former but spouse decided that LCD was the choice most other people will make - a bad basis for decision making.

Oct 3, 2006Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: Good contrast & shrpness, Image details are good
Cons: Prefer more choices of cabinet colors
Opinion:
This is good buy, i trade in my old projection TV & got good bargain on price & redeemed 3yr warranty. Noticed great image quality while gaming with xbox HD games & surfing on the net when connectd to my laptop. They arranged demo call for me & got properly adjusted, tuned by friendly Enginner. Waiting to see the image quality of ch5 when it will start HD transmission.
Gorgeous!!!
