contrasts ratio for the Sony KDL40X3100 and the Samsung LA40F81BDX

Sony lists a dynamic contrasts ratio of 18000:1 for the KDL40X3100 and samsung 25000:1 dynamic for the LA40F81BDX. Please clarify how the sony wins here according to your review ??? im in the market and dont realy want to change my mind at this late stage.....

ie. how is the following true:

"Its full-HD panel is now upgraded to deliver a 25,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. That's more than a 66 percent leap over its predecessor and about the highest in the market, second only to the Bravia X's 18:000:1 rating."

Samsung 25000:1 only secound to Sony 16000:1 ?

Heck! I am as confused as you are, is it a typo error of 15000:1? checked other site still quoting 25000:1, Mr. Wong, you better explain this....

Folks, thanks for spotting this error. Thousand apologies.

By the way, remember these are just theoretical figures for quick comparison and there is no industrial standardization on dynamic contrast measurements. So higher doesn't necessarily guarantee better performance.
