Canon unleashes full suite of LCoS projectors

By Philip Wong

Canon took the wraps off its 2006 business solutions in conjunction with the opening of its partner's ImagePro Studio office at Shaw House, Singapore. On display was a complete range of next-generation multimedia projectors and business printers designed to minimize business setup costs and outsourcing reliance, achieved through a marriage of affordability and ease of maintenance.

Joining its incumbent LV series were the LV-X6, LV-7250 and LV-7255 LCD projectors. Targeted for home and office users, the three models will be equipped with short throw optics capable of rendering 100-inch images from a mere 2.5m distance. A built-in wall color correction feature will also simplify installation procedures without the need to lug along a projector screen for impromptu presentations.

One was obviously not enough as Canon beefed up its Xeed lineup with three new offerings. Breaking the price barrier at S$4,999 (US$3,680.53) was its X600, hailed as the most affordable LCoS projector with a dazzling 3,500 ANSI lumens brightness. Next up, was the SX60 with a special home theater mode boosting contrast ratio to a healthy two-fold enhancement of 2,000:1. For the ultimate in performance, the company unveiled its SX6 with all the impressive features of the series plus the advantage of an ultra-high 1,400 x 1,050 resolution.
