The bad: A very dated design and shell; barebone features; no backlighting.
The bottom line: The X3 does a very good job for presentation but comes with a lean and thin feature set which we can count on one hand.

I found no measurable difference between the 4805 and x3; I liked lamp life and high lumens

I guess I am not a videophile so I do not see the differences that are mentioned in other reviews. I have a lot of ambient light which washed out the sp4805.
