User Review for Dell M109S
On the go without the bulk
Aug 21, 2009Rating: 8 out of 10 (Excellent)
Pros: Space savings. Bright enough for a class of 10
Cons: Bright rooms need not apply
Opinion:
I would never have considered this projector until I was forced to do so because of my photography class.
So I was hunting up and down with budget as the main constraint and this Dell costs me S$600. Next to most projectors that cost 1000 dollars and upwards, I do not have that much choice unless I went on to get the Pico projectors.
At 50 Ansi Lumens, it is not exactly that bright but it is bright enough for a class of about 20 to comfortably view pictures on the screen at around 50" diagonally across.
Powerpoint presentation is clear as well even to the point my elderly students can see without much assistance. However, the room has to be quite dark (not total darkness) for the projector to work its magic.
The Dell maybe between the Pico and the normal full fledge projectors, I think it has at least struck a balance between portability, usefulness and cost.
So for travelling executives, trainers and even for photography trips overseas where you need a projector for training budding photographers, it is really a good tool to bring along.
Something has to improve though. I have finger print smudges. The mirror light finishing around the buttons are just finger print magnet. I think simple buttons would be better and much more robust for a mobile device such as this.
A customised tripod stand for the projector would be a good addition as well.
