Top 10 Blu-ray players

By Philip Wong, CNET Asia

Everything is just about right to go Blu in 2009. There are abundant Blu-ray players and software available in the Asian markets, but more importantly, prices have dropped by quite a bit in recent months. These days, entry-level players and movie titles can be picked up for as low as S$400 (US$294.50) and S$40 (US$29.45), respectively, during promotions and sales fairs.

If that's not affordable enough, there are always the US online retailers such as Amazon.com and Deepdiscount.com for Blu-ray titles. The former offers frequent "buy two get one free" promotions, while the latter dishes out additional free discount coupons on top of their marked-down prices. Another alternative is to source for used copies in local forums, which can go for as low as S$25 (US$18.41) each.
