CNET Asia Review
Excellent
The good: Sound quality; style; features; brilliant range of inputs and outputs. 8.6
out of 10View score
The bad: Size; it gets hot enough to fry an egg.
The bottom line: If you want an AV receiver that has plenty of power and supports the latest high- definition audio, the Onkyo TX-SR875 should be on your shopping list. Its support for DTS-HD Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD via HDMI is a boon.

Oct 1, 2008Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: Sound Quality and Picture Quality is amazing,Easy set up
Cons: AudysseyMulti Eq Xt does not do a good job.Cannot configure 51 manually.DVD AUDIO and SACD cannot be played through HDMI
Opinion:
I have owned many brands of highend Receivers but for me this is the best please dont get me wrong this is my opinion the music is crisp and clear and the video upconverts beautifully,I have heard a lot of people say that this receiver runs very hot but for me i think it is quite normal.Seven channel amp, what do you expect. I run Jamo 6ohms speakers it gets quite warm but not hot enough to fry an egg...
So if anyone out there is looking to buy a good amp this wont dissapoint
Beats the best of the best.

Cons: Gets hot
Opinion:
The best A / V receiver that I have owned to date. Had also being impressed with Harmon Kardon but am now mesmerized with this receiver. Hearing is believing! I have played tracks converted to 96PCM / 24Bits via the HDMI and you will be astonished what you hear. Had no regrets and will gladly recommend anyone this beauty. Just waiting to connect to a Blu ray (Panasonic DMP BD 30) and sounds will totally unfold.......!
tour de force for onkyo.

Pros: powerful,sound,video,ease of use,a steal,in a word : WINNER.
Cons: NONE WHAT SO EVER.
Opinion:
From the moment i unpacked the box,i new i am about to experience something worth the money. After hooking up everything,it was time to test all the excellent reviews i read about this unit, well let me tell alot of the reviews dont do justice to it.the sound is awsome, whether you are watching amovie or listening to music in stereo, you need to hear it to appreciate its merits.the video upscalling .through hdmi connection is excellent.the tuner section also did avery good job in picking up fm stations with a suprising clarity and seperation. My previous reciever was DENON-3808which i gave it to my brother,it is a very good unit, but compare to the onkyo,it is no match for it,especialy where price is concerned.
MY recommendation to for who ever out there planning on buying an av reciever with a bargain price for all it has,you wont find a better bet than the onkyo, bar non.
