The bad: Line-of-sight infrared wireless system; slightly muted treble; does not support XviD playback.
The bottom line: Fancy FX999's styling and wireless capability without forking out the high price? The Sony DAV-DZ770W is the closest match at S$999.

decent HTIB for the money
May 17, 2006Rating: 8 out of 10 (Excellent)
Pros: wireless surrounds; decent performance;
Cons: ordinary looks; cheap-looking remote; no HDMI; IR line-of-sight surround transmission
Opinion:
The main reason I purchased this set was because of its wireless surround speakers. The sound is good enough for my ears and there is no distortion at high volumes. There do not appear to be any bass/treble controls.
The remote is unimpressive, with tiny buttons and labels which could potentially wear off.
Compared with other brands, Sony seems to give better connectivity to other devices - the 2 sets of RCA inputs for auxiliary video and satellite include composite video (most others only give you the stereo ports.)
Dolby Prologic works great with the Xbox giving surround sound from the standard stereo outputs.
