The good: Superior selection of games including several console-exclusive titles; all games in high-definition; easy-to-use Dashboard interface; excellent online gaming and communications via Xbox Live; plays hundreds of (but not all) original Xbox titles; doubles as a superior digital media hub and Windows Media Center extender; online Marketplace allows for easy purchases of downloadable full-scale games, minigames, movies, and TV shows; latest version offers HDMI output with 1080p support; reduced power supply footprint; new processor runs cooler and quieter.

The bad: No support for Blu-ray; early versions of the console prone to "red ring of death" system crash; online gaming require a paid subscription to Xbox Live.

The bottom line: Now that Blu-ray has become the pre-eminent HD standard for discs, the Xbox 360 has yet to support it, but it still remains an excellent game console with a superior game library and online experience.

HARDCORE GAMERS THIS IS FOR YOU! (better this than PS3 or Wii)

Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: Tons of EXCELLENT GAMES to choose from, EXCELLENT GRAPHICS, very good and easy-to-use online gaming
Cons: Earlier versions prone to overheating leading to system crash if used without cooler, Scratches disks (older versions), No Blu-ray support yet, Online gaming maybe costly for non-hardcore gamers
Opinion:
If you are really into "QUALITY GAMING EXPERIENCE" then this is the console for you. If you don't like playing computer games that much you can buy the "Wii" so you can play it with your whole family. In my honest opinion, the only reason you'll buy PS3 than Xbox 360 is because of the Blu-Ray support. Let's be honest here, PS3 has very good graphics, but that's about it. Xbox 360 is head to head almost in every category but SMASHES PS3 on the CHOICES OF GAMES FOR HARDCORE GAMERS. Moreover, because Microsoft created Xbox 360, it has way much better online gaming experience, more user-friendly online experience because Microsoft brings more to the table when it comes to ONLINE. In fact, if it weren't for the hardware flaws of Xbox 360 and no Blu-Ray support, there's no need to buy the COSTLIER PS3! THE GAMING EXPERIENCE OF XBOX 360 MAKES UP FOR EVERY FLAW IT HAS! PS3 IS ... Read more

Great and value for money

Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: Less costlier than PS3 but with more variety of games, better controller ergonomics compared to 1st gen
Cons: death of hd-dvd,
Opinion:
The biggest plus for the 360 is the variety of top games available for this console. The pic quality vs PS3 is not discernable at this point.

The best solution for a hard core gamer!

Rating: 8 out of 10 (Excellent)
Pros: The best and most diverse gaming library amongst current gen consoles
Cons: 3RL or Red Ring of Death is a very cruel thing to happen! XBox Live is not free!
Opinion:
If you're a hardcore gamer then this console is the best for you! The XBox 360 also gives out better fps among multi platform games (60fps vs 30fps@PS3 on most EA games).
The biggest downside, and real cruel, is the 3 Red Lights which mean a hardware error! Most people who buy this are hardcore games who will play for numerous hours, but playing for numerous hours increases the risks of the Red Ring of Death!!! The whole ask for a coffin, ship coffin then get replacement unit takes a long time, especially for countries who are not yet supported. Some people have also encountered issues with the disc drive. Also XBox Live (for online gaming) is a pay service unlike the PS Network!
If not for the Hardware problems & if XBox Live were free, this would have been an 11 out of 10.
