The good: Revolutionary controller design offers unique motion-sensitive gameplay options; built-in Wi-Fi delivers free online services and (eventually) gameplay; Virtual Console has major nostalgia appeal; compatible with all GameCube games and controllers; built-in SD slot for storage and photo viewing; includes Wii Sports game; most affordable of all next-gen systems.

The bad: Controller eats batteries and takes some time to get used to; lacks the advanced HD graphics and surround sound found on the Xbox 360 and the PS3; requires a wired receiver unit placed near the TV to interface with wireless controllers; can't play CDs or DVDs.

The bottom line: It lacks the graphical prowess and rich media features of the Xbox 360 and the PS3, but the Nintendo Wii's combination of unique motion-sensitive controllers and emphasis on fun gameplay make the ultra-affordable console hard to resist.

It's the FAMILY Console!!!

Rating: 10 out of 10 (Perfect)
Pros: Innovative controls, fun gameplay
Cons: Game library still not as diverse, but it is getting better. You also east up AA batteries quite fast
Opinion:
Every home in the world should have a Wii. If the British government is contemplating on having Wii's in schools, Surgeons use it to improve dexterity, and retirement Homes in America have it to entertain their seniors, then you know Nintendo has made a winner.
What other console lets you jump on turtles, play out your dreams of being McDreamy/P. Burke, and slash assassins all while looking like magician with a magical wand?
The game library needs more titles though, especially on the sports side where decent titles are few (Wii Sports and Madden 08 are not enough!)
Do you like to have fun? Then get a Wii!

Wonderful gaming experience

Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: Revolutionary way to play a game.
Cons: Haven't found any yet.
Opinion:
I have never spent more than 10 mins playing any games since I own a playstation I in my family. But Wii changes everything, the whole family becomes addicted to the revolutionary way of playing a computer game. I realise that my budget began to overshot since I started buying the racquets, boxing gloves, sword and guns for the remote controller.

Don't try getting it if you are busy. Else, you might just drop everything and start wiing.

The best console right now

Rating: 10 out of 10 (Perfect)
Pros: Unbeatable gameplay, revolutionary controllers, small, light, free sports game is cool.
Cons: None that I've seen. I guess if people don't warm up they could do themselves an injury?
Opinion:
I tried a Wii the other day at a party and loved it so much I went straight out and got one. I love it!

The Wii is so different to other consoles for a few reasons:
- it gets you off your chair where you normally just sit and push bottons, and instead you'll be up moving around, swinging your arms etc.
- you feel more like you're in the game participating, rather than some remote person pushing a button to make something happen.
- it's more social. You invite friends over and have plenty of fun playing against each other, rather than having online "friends" while sitting in a corner by yourself pushing buttons.

Basically, if you want the latest HD graphics, go watch a movie. If you want to play traditional console games, sit in a chair and just push buttons, then stick with the PS2 or XBOX - the games haven't ... Read more
