Performance And Battery Life
We gleefully awaited the MobileMark 2002 benchmarking results as we were anxious to find how this top-tier 760 processor fared. The TravelMate 8104WLMi didn't disappoint, hitting a very high 253 performance score and beating previous-gen Centrino desktop replacements.

We conducted two 3D tests on the Acer which was the first unit boasting the new ATI Mobility Radeon X700 PCI-Express chip we got to use. Running 3DMark03 at 1,024 x 768 resolution, we obtained a very impressive 5,700 rating which effectively squashed many of the previous high scores we had gotten with ATI's 9700 series. As for 3DMark05 (1,024 x 768), 2,241 marks were given. We shall now observe which notebooks can beat the top scores set by the 8104WLMi.

Despite hitting the high 253 performance rating, the Acer managed to maintain its battery life at 203 minutes, which is reasonable for a notebook with such a large 15.4-inch screen and huge processing power.
