Excellent
Toshiba M50 is average.

Pros: Great large screen! Doesn't lag that much unless lots of applications, great for casual use!
Cons: Battery life is the worse, don't really use the keys on the side, the start key is in the most useless place.
Opinion:
I've had this laptop for 2 years + and it's still alive! Well the battery life doesn't last for very long unless you hibernate it alot! :)

Pros: Lightweight, good specs, affrodable price, high quality sound and colors, fast.
Cons: 2 hours batt life
Opinion:
THis lappy is very user-friendly. It is lightweight and works fast. I dont know bout the heat problem. Ive never experienced it. Probably because it's really cold where I come from. Cool sound and great color display.

Good
Would have given a 9 is not for the short battery life & heat problem

Pros: excellent utilities; great sound for a notebook; great screen
Cons: On 1 occassion keyboard failed, suspect due to heat. Battery life <2 hrs. Not exactly light.
Opinion:
My first Toshiba.I am terribly dissapointed. I fear using it in a warm environment. Cant imagine the keyboard failing again in a middle of an important presentation.

Pros: Great value for price during promo.
Cons: view angle, batt life and software included.
Opinion:
Bought this notebook during the last few days of promo. at 1Gb ram, 128 dedicated graphic, 100 GB HDD, and 14 inch screen with decent built in speaker, I think its a great buy. All things have flaws and for this lappy, i didn't liked the view angle, tilted my head abit and some part of the screen not that clear. Batt life also was too short, i was looking at the the batt meter percentage going down every min. Heat was still ok for me. seen worst eg the new white compaq which was HOT on the palm rest Last was the Sw included, intervideo sux, couldn't get it to convert and burn my avi files to a DVD...
