The good: Sharp 17-inch wide-aspect display; DirectX 9-class graphics processor; hot-swappable DVD-Multi drive; fast performance.
The bad: Bulky; Windows keys placed on top row of keyboard; thick LCD bezel; one-year warranty.
The bottom line: With a 17-inch screen, DirectX 9-compliant 3D graphics card and multiformat DVD writer, the Satellite P20 is more than equipped to replace most desktop PCs for home and office users.
A great machine but slow HD and slow dvd burner by Lambe - Oct 07, 2005
I like this machine very much. It is very heavy but the metal plate around the keyboard makes it look much nicer than the newer and lighter Toshiba desktop replacements. Toshiba ships with 2 x 256MB ram, so this is annoying when upgrading. HD crashed on me a litte over a year of purchase. It is a very slow HD (4200RPM) 80 gig.
A terrible graphics card compatibility. It is SLOW and choppy for games. The battery life is VERY low. If you want a desktop, buy this. If you want a portable computer, actually get a PORTABLE computer.
