The good: Attractive all-in-one design; vivid wide-screen display; great software bundle for home users.
The bad: Little room for expansion; so-so service and support.
The bottom line: The iMac's 20-inch display makes both work and play a lot easier on the eyes, if not on the wallet.

Great system for years to come

Unless you're trying to play the latest games or doing cutting-edge editing of pictures or video or 3D authoring (which seriously, how many of us do this?), then this computer will serve well into the future. For most of us, what we use a computer for is to surf the Net, check our email, and with this monster of a screen, watch DVD. Add to that an essay or a letter and you don't need anyhing better than this. If you fall into the category of what we might call the "normal" user, then this is really all you need. Plus, I don't think you can find a better-looking computer out there. You don't need to "throw away" your screen in 2 to 3 years. Keep using it. All you might have to do is add more RAM or get an external hard drive. Great computer.
