The good: Triband; slim clamshell; hot-swappable miniSD slot; excellent connectivity options.
The bad: Clumsy design; standard VGA camera; occasional menu slowdowns.
The bottom line: Although it’s tagged as a smart phone, it’s really just your normal phone with the addition of Quickoffice, coupled with unsavory controls that can be daunting to use.

Spectacular
A fantastic phone with just a few common flaws
by lfcskull22 - Nov 06, 2005

This is just a great phone and it just has a few flaws but that can be forgiven knowing that the X800 boasts great features. OK, let's start with all the good things to talk about the x800. Firstly, the phone has infrared, bluetooth and it even comes with an USB cable for PC connectivity. Thank goodness that there is bluetooth because i don't know what i would have done if there was no bluetooth. The bluetooth range and connectivity are good and quite impressive. The infrared is also quite impressive because for once it works properly and is reliable compared to some other models where a pc suite must be the "middleman" in the transfer. The PC connectivity is quite fun because the pc software is quite interactive and although it is not the easiest to use, after a while of getting used to, it becomes fine. It is also fun because when you have a symbian application on your computer, your x800 is also connected once you open the file on your computer. The file will automatically be installed on your X800. The X800 also is compatible for viewing Word documents and this feature makes viewing of everyday presentations a breeze. The symbian OS in the phone is an added bonus and it makes life so easy for everyone and you can install all the many, many various symbian applications available on the Internet. The only bad points are that the x800 comes with the traditional type of earpiece with only 1 earphone. The phone's screen is also very prone to fingerprints and the speaker on the phone could be a bit louder. This is because when you get a call in a noisy environment, you will have to strain to hear the person on the phone. Besides all these minor flaws, the phone is still above good and nothing is perfect. Wow, what a wonderful phone. :)
