my 2 cents worth

Rating: 7 out of 10 (Very good)
Pros: Everything about it; light, fast, good software, excellent value for money, great design, looks expensive.
Cons: Cons – If you have an old piece of software, the 320 x 320 resolution may cause you a problem, not very stable
Opinion:
Got a black colour one on 1 May, replacing my 3 yrs old Palm Treo 650. Why I decide to switch from Palm OS to M$ OS, even though, M$ os is often the “bugging” type, when I must admit, I choose the phone form factor rather than the OS.

Well, since I took the plunge, let’s focus on my 2 cent worth of experience. First the specifications. This is what you get when u open the black box. The design of the box is simple and nice.

3Times one to one Exchange due to constant hanging

Pros: Love the keyboards
Cons: Shuts off or hangs more than 3 times a day
Opinion:
This phone spells trouble for me so far. I really hope the wm6.1 will rectify all the issues. 3sets of brand new Samsung i780 exhibits the same problem.

No way to change now, got to wait for rom update.

 

My i780 never worked from Day 1

Pros: HSDPA is fast, Good features
Cons: WM6, Forced to use Outlook for my contacts, everything except the phone works!
Opinion:
My i780 has been giving me problems from Day 1. I switched it on and it went into a mode where it recognized the SIM card, but showed no service. I could do everything except make and receive calls. I could access the 3G functions, check e-mail and check and send sms. However it showed no service for the phone and I couldnt see any contacts from my SIM card. The same SIM card worked fine on my SE K608i. The only way out was to do a hard reset and then it seemed to work for a few days. Then I tried installing Navphone PPS (the GPS software that came with the phone) and the phone crashed after installation. Every time it crashes I get a cprog.exe error and it goes back to a mode where I cant make or receive calls since it shows no service. poor sound level kills a fantastic product

Pros: everything u can need
Cons: sound quality abysmal
Opinion:
this would have been a fantastic phone had it not been for the very low sound level : both with the speaker phone on and without it. God help you, if you use bluetooth....u will barely be able to hear the person on the other line.

Otherwise brilliant....i wish they would have taken care of the sound quality...let us not forget, this is a phone first.

 

Blackberry killer for Exchange users

Pros: Great connectivity on HSDPA, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and flawless wireless sync to Exchange
Cons: Battery life sucks
Opinion:
From a work point of view, this is an excellent mobile work horse. Great keyboard, big screen, and high speed connectivity on any network. But the best part really is the real-time sync with Exchange so I get mail, cal, contacts, tasks on my mobile as i would on my PC. I'm talking real-time, not your old-school IMAP/POP push mail every 2 minutes.
