Pros: Stable to use , Everything in one , Solid built , Excellent display , Speedy interface .
Cons: A lot of fans & many new tryout customers unable to afford this wonderful device
Opinion:
I bought my U1000 early Jan, 2007 and have enjoyed very much using the device daily without switching it off and it performed wonderfully. Yes , it's expensive and not everyone is willing to buy it especially knowing it's much cheaper to buy a normal laptop. However this device is a top functioning mobile phone plus you can enjoy many pocket pc programs just like a computer . I also enjoy the extra large display on this pda and that's reason it is so big , heavy and boxy.
good stuff

Pros: efficient unit for business
Cons: unable to connect wire lan
Opinion:
i used the most stable O2ii for years, and then changed to Dopod838pro, it is now my main phone, somehow, i bought this U1000, i now really fall in love with this U1000 as key device for making business, it is just US$1000 here, so easy for reading and writing email and sms, photo taking is great and easy.
this suits my small business application, coz i travel a lot in city and amongst countries, i ride on public transport alot, therefore, i can use it when i sit down, the screen sixe is good for business man, meant for middle age guy, it is so clear for reading.
sorry that those guys think it is big, because you don't treat it as a communication network, it is a fashion device for showing off.
its GPS feature is wonderful too
disadvantages;
no cable for lan connection, therefore, i usually bring a ... Read more

Pros: Close to a UMPC minus the Boot Up
Cons: No Way to Read Thumbdrive Natively So Need to get another Cable
Opinion:
Between paying nearly 3.5K for the UMPC I think I would rather have the U1000 that do have the GPS and nearly everything to keep in touch.
I guess it really depends on need, with nearly the same screen size with the Fujitsu U1010, typing anything like a full document would be quite tough. So I prefer to do all the hard core typing in the office where a full keyboard do has its uses.
That aside, U1000 will do what basic computing need, surf net, write email, do presentation, do excel, do word, play games (though games that are based on handphones rather than a full fledge PC...then again can UMPC play full games?)
What I like best is the always on availability that no PC/Laptop/UMPC can match and it is easier to run without a lot of issues on the road.
So to each his own but to compare this to UMPC I ... Read more
