CNET Asia Review
6.8
out of 10View score
The bad: Lacks 3G; slow processor; poor SIM card slot design.
The bottom line: Though the TouchFLO feature is very cool, the real reason to get the Touch is because of its stylish and compact design. That's if you can look beyond the fact that it doesn't have a keypad and, more importantly, 3G.

CDMA Touch Phone In the U.S. Much Better
Apr 14, 2008Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: Fast processor, voice access to all functions, TouchFlo screen, easy-to-use WW6 interface, Sprint EVDO
Cons: Keyboard too small, as always, but s/w available to increase size, Battery life
Opinion:
Here's a case where mobile geeks in Asia using the GSM version of the Touch lost out. Sprint offers the HTC Touch CDMA version in the U.S. Great mobile device. I used it as an example of what's to come with Android-enabled phones. See my blog posts and "ideal Android phone" PDF on MarketingBeyond:

Basic PPC that will please the not so "spec crazy" users
Apr 7, 2008Rating: 8 out of 10 (Excellent)
Pros: Reliable does not need hardresets often, Bug free, Basic
Cons: Touch screen less sensitive, poor finishing that is easily stained, only 1 programmable hardware button
Opinion:
I've been using the enhanced memory version (128mb/256mb) for around 3 months now. My previous phone was a 838pro, so its sorta a downgrade.. I changed because i was sick of carrying bricks around and don't use the keyboard much anyway.
I work on the touch almost 3-4 hours a day either using it to check my mail, scheduling tasks, or surfing the web using WIFI. With my "Heavy usage" I have to charge the phone every night as by the end of the day, only 50% juice would be left in the batteries. So far, i've installed various programs (Bible, Dictionary, TR Wikipedia, SPB mobile shell, SPB mobile suite, Scientific calculators, iGO etc.) with no observed lag in performance.
Its really stable and reliable. Only hanged on me once through my 3 months of usage. Think its more reliable than the previous version as it has more RAM. I couple it with a BT gps module ... Read more
On Second Thought
Feb 11, 2008Rating: 4 out of 10 (Mediocre)
Pros: Slim form factor, sleek design, affordability
Cons: Pretty much everything else
Opinion:
I bought this phone about 4 months ago and gave it a pretty positive review previously.
After using it for 4 months, i've come to discover that the phone is actually pretty disappointing.
I've realized that the phone is bug-ridden, when the Touchflo interface activates without reason - if you use the keys at the bottom of the screen, every now and then somehow the Touchflo interfaces is duped into thinking you have somehow slid your fingers across the screen and the cube appears - it's not a big issue, but it's an irritating bug nonetheless.
What vexes me is the problem of my reception breaking off for no reason, sometimes even acting as if nothing happened even though i've not had reception for a while (meaning my phone shows no apparent problem, but people are actually unable to reach me) - i've repaired the phone twice (if you can tolerate the extremely POOR after-sales service) and i've ...
