HP iPaq 612 Business Navigator

HP IPaq Navigator 600

Availability! I have seen on the HP website that it is supposed to be shipping in September (UK HP site) and as yet its not available. The HP US website says that it will be available Q4 would you have heard anything about the release date for the UK?
In my books its winner although more on board ram would have been nice as would a 624mhz processor but it still has a lot going for it. I was going to buy the XDA ATom Life but instead will buy this as soon as it becomes available its exactly what I've been looking for.
I'm glad to see HP producing something worthy of the Ipaq name at last!

can't wait to get this unit...

man i can't wait for this unit! i am a nokia user for several years and i think it's time to move on to a WM6 interface. love the screen (similar in size with dopod d810 and htc p3600i which is 2.8 inches), the RAM which is 128mb and the rom size! plus it can accept micro SDHC cards!

i hope CNET can make a full review once this unit comes out...

p.s.: where's the stylus slot? can't seem to figure out it's location :P

RE: HP IPaq Navigator 600

its listed here on CNET as input bieng keypad, does anyone know if its touch screen or has a stylus????

Yes it has touch screen and more

It has a touch screen + a smart navigation wheel on the keypad (its like the one in ipods)+ a jog dial on the side.

Available finally !!!!

HP Ipaq 612 if finally listed on the Indian website of HP and is priced at Rs. 24999 (USD 620 approx.). But this version is without the camera.

What about GPS?

I'm afraid of quality of the gps chip - in Europe, especially in Czech Rep. is this communicator presented as iPAQ 614, not 612 and in specifications is written "A-GPS", no sirfstar III, which would be much more better, of course..

IMHO A-GPS wouldn't be able to be used with applications such as TOMTOM or DYNAVIX, wish you were right with "your" sirfstar III described there :-)

When is it going to be launched in india???

Hi ,
I have a question whether ever its going to get launched in India. They have showed the indicative price on the india portal of hp. Want to know if it is launched in any other part of the world. I am aware that its not going to be launched in US due to some parts suppliers problem.

Hi samtnik

its shown as priced 25000 RS on the indian site. But when I called the helpline of hp they told that its not yet launched on the indian markets. And they are not aware even of any dates when its going to get launched in the indian markets>>
