The Japanese camera maker's latest announcements sees new upgrade models for its current S- , F- and Z-series as well as a new line of slim entry-level shooters branded under the J-series. Fujifilm also claims a world's first for its S1000fd being the smallest 10-megapixel snapper with 12x optical zoom.

One camera that will certainly catch the attention of professional photographers is the S100FS. Targeted at shutterbugs who aren't completely satisfied with the image quality from digital SLRs, the 11.1-megapixel prosumer offering sports a color reproduction system which Fujifilm claims will even rival its Fujichrome Velvia color reversal film quality. The S100FS also features a 14.3x optical zoom (28-400mm) lens, Multi Bracketing functions and a new Super CCD VIII HR sensor.

Also new in the S-series is the S8100fd, a 10-megapixel upgrade to the S8000fd. There are three new shooting options, including a Zoom Bracketing mode which takes one picture followed by two further zoomed images with one shutter release.

The latest addition to Fujifilm's compact performance F-series is the F100fd, a 12-megapixel shooter with a wide-angle 28-140mm (5x optical zoom) lens. Face detection speed has also been improved with the new Face Detection 3.0 system, while the camera continues to offer high ISO settings (ISO 3200 at full resolution and ISO 12800 at 3 megapixels).

The FinePix J10 is possibly one of Fujifilm's slimmest digicam to date, measuring just 19mm thick, while the higher-speced J50 is slightly thicker at 23mm. Both cameras sport 8-megapixel CCD sensors. The new Z20fd, following its predecessor Z10fd, comes with a higher-resolution 10-megapixel sensor as well as onboard functions to shoot, edit and upload movies.

All seven cameras will support both XD-Picture Card and SD/SDHC flash memory formats. They are slated for launch in the first half of 2008.
