The photography arena ain't dominated by the alpha males alone. This week, we feature Eunice Lim, an avid photographer who kindly took time out of her busy schedule for this interview.
The images you see from this feature have been reproduced with permission from Eunice Lim. If you wish to be featured in our interviews or know any photo buffs who may be interested, email us a short description of yourself, or your friend, and we'll get back to you.

What she says: I was majoring in photography during my diploma studies in Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA). My passion for photography blossomed when I started taking snaps for my school assignments. I love traveling, capturing the moments and painting the "canvas" with what I see through the viewfinder.
As I move on, I'm also looking forward to shoot more portraits of people and fashion, as well as self-portraits both in black & white or color.
Photography is definitely an expressive avenue for me to display what I want to show. It's not just the art and it's not just the photography, it's a culture to me.
Fullerton I like the way these two architectures complement each other. To get a different view, I tilted the camera to a lower angle and made use of the bridge to create a more dynamic look for this composition. Always be experimental with new angles because they are most likely to give a new perspective on how the objects will look.

Chopsticks What I shoot may not be close to the reality, but from the way I see it. It took me quite a while to find this angle as I wanted to eliminate the buildings in the background while creating a solitary yet strong look for my object. While I'm fully aware that there is a "rule" which says not to position our subject in the middle, if breaking it makes your photo looks better, just go ahead. This is the War Memorial as I see.

Back alley This was taken in one of the back alleys in Chinatown. It was close to sunset when this photo was shot. Played around with the exposure for this one.

Top Forget about taking what everyone has been shooting. Look for something different. Even with the most common technique, you can create something unique. This was taken in one of the shopping centers. I waited for the railing to be cleared before I shot it. It pays to be patient. To make sure the sky did not over-expose, I lowered the exposure for this shot.

Sky window Again, this was an evening shot. The reflection caught my attention when I was rounding up my shoot. Instead of a direct focus on the reflection, I included its surrounding to make a better story for this photo.

Bali kids I was scrolling along Kuta beach in Bali, Indonesia, one evening when I spotted these children. As most of the kids on the beach were really active, I thought I could capture the silence of these young Balinese. This was more of a silhouette shot. To achieve silhouette, shoot it with your light source behind your subject.

Blood fix This was a totally experimental shot. For some reason, I really like this photo because it is visually appealing and it somehow does not look like a photograph at all despite being one.

Equipment EOS 66 was my first SLR camera. It was a cheap and good choice for me when I started my studies in NAFA. Till today, this is still my favorite camera when I travel as it is much lighter than my dSLR. I could have waited for the 20D but I didn't--10D is good enough for what I need to experiment. I'm still saving up to get more lenses for my digital body, though. Looking at the near future, I would like to get myself a vintage medium-format camera as well as a Leica camera to shoot.
The dry box is where all my equipment resides when I'm not using them. I would usually clean them with a cleaning cloth and a blower.
