Pros: generally good picture, larger lcd, wide angle for interior and group shot!
Cons: no viewfinder -who need it anyway, heavy, bulky.
Opinion:
this is my 6th canon model i bought. in general my old 4g ixus shoot better and crispier picture than this model. i might rate 70-75% in different condition is the quality, crisp, clarity to zoom. but the color saturation is not that great. but if youre not a pro and just wanted a all around point and shoot camera. this is good equal to sony t-200.
Very good and stylish point and shoot

Very impressive compact camera

Pros: Excellent and naturally colourful captures
Cons: No optical viewfinder
Opinion:
I am first attracted to this camera after I read several different camera reviews over the net, and I changed my IXUS 75 to this one, IXUS 860 IS. This camera is surely a better camera than IXUS 75. It has a compact solid elegant body in an eye-catching silver and black colour tones. Its 3.8x optical zoom is so fast and smooth and goes until 15x with digital zoom combined. Its optical image stabilizer is so effective even for a shaky capture moments and to a shake-sensitive telephoto shots. But this image stabilizer is only effective under proper lighting conditions when the shutter speed won't go slower than 1/60 seconds, common to most point-and-shoot models. Its High ISO noises on photos when using ISO 1600 are now more reduced than the previous models. I like its 28mm wide-angle lens, a very flexible lens specially for capturing a wide area of subject or in groups. Its 3-inch LCD screen is ... Read more
Great pictures
Mar 11, 2008Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: Great pictures, the 28mm is very useful
Cons: A bit too thick
Opinion:
This is my 5th digital cam. I had a Pentex Optio. Casio Exslim S100. Also the Canon Digital IXUS 430, IXUS 55 and now the IXUS 860 IS. Bought this for the wide lens (28mm). Picture quality is excellent. Only problem it's a big big and thick. Would prefer it slimmer. Perhaps the next generation.
