good choice

Rating: 8 out of 10 (Excellent)
Pros: leca lens with 3.6x optical zoom, High sensitivity iso1600!, 28mm wide angle, long battery life
Cons: noise, unable to select iso level for high sensitivity mode
Opinion:
Do check out this product at panasonic official site. It's easy to use with great features. Yet to discover its cons. Overall it's a tip-top model at current market.

very nice little pocket shooter

Rating: 8 out of 10 (Excellent)
Pros: size, wide lens , anti shake , just nice design
Cons: noise in low light
Opinion:
very nice results except in low light where noise creeps in more than it should. other wise very nice. great design, wide lens not found elsewhere, you could almost call it pretty. I have the black one. I'm happy with it.

great camera

Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: zoom starting from 28 mm, anti-shake stabilized optics
Cons: noise at higher ISOs
Opinion:
I've used 3xzoom ultra compact cameras since they came out (Minolta X). The FX01 offers the following advantages:
- 28 mm as widest focal length
- very good optics for such small camera (barrel distortion is expected at such small zooms)
- optical image stabilization, which is quite effective
- very compact but very good design, which intuitively prevents the user from blocking the lens or the flash with fingers (which remains a challenge for cameras with non-protruding lens).
Of course there are sacrifices to make in picture quality (noise and distortion) to arrive at such small dimensions - but the point is that larger cameras have a very high chance of being left at home in order to avoid the hazzle of carrying them along.
To me the FX01 is state-of-the-art, i.e. it is as good as it gets, nowadays.
Highly recommended.
