The bad: Unable to return to shooting mode with half-press on shutter button.
The bottom line: The S600 is one of the fastest cameras we've tested, and it doesn't compromise on features or image quality.

Small wide-angle. Very fast and good picture quality.
Aug 5, 2008Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: 28mm equivalent. Fast startup. Picture quality. Useful modes.
Cons: Power and shutter buttons too close. Some convuluted menus.
Opinion:
I needed a small and fast camera too keep with me at all times. The s600 had the added advantage of wider angle option and better picture quality, even in low light, than expected. The "Scene" modes seems well chosen - I have used "active child" extensively.
