Easy to use
May 8, 2009Rating: 8 out of 10 (Excellent)
Pros: Good picture quality, almost dummy proof
Cons: Slightly bulky
Opinion:
I'm quite a noob with photography, so the decision to buy this camera is basically based on its price, and some basic specs like battery type (AA), megapixels..
I've enjoyed using it while shooting 800 plus pictures while on honeymoon. Battery life is acceptable, being able to withstand 1 whole day of shooting while on LCD display mode and even longer if we use the manual window.
Startup time is quick, so it helps us get in shots that we need to take in a rush.
Camera's auto function is great too. Should you take a shot at night without the flash, it automatically increases the ISO.
Being a noob, i unfortunately can't comment much on the program/manual function. But comparing to cameras like fujifilm FD100, the variety of manoveures you can do with this canon is probably lesser.
Probable downside to this camera is its bulkiness but it comes with a lower price compared to things like ... Read more
A complete value for money option !!!
Mar 18, 2009Rating: 9 out of 10 (Spectacular)
Pros: Everything in the camera !! Right from Picture quality to its sturdiness n varuety of functional modalities !!!!
Cons: Long flash recycle time !!
Opinion:
Excellent camera !!! Perfect value for money option. Provided wt a bunch of features for all kinds of photography. Great picture quality, colours not too bright, good white balance adjustment, number of modes for outdoor photography, night image quality is very good !!! Only drawback is a longer flash recycle time if u want 2 take consecutive photographs. And with Ni-Mh batteries, the time lag in flash operational camera time has a much better performance. Video shooting wt 640 by 480 at 20fps is not a problem coz shooting quality isnt hampered. It shoots very well !!!
A great camera for the newbie
Mar 16, 2009Rating: 6 out of 10 (Good)
Pros: Reasonable Price, 8 MP, Not that heavy, JPG pics and AVI Movies, AA bats
Cons: Video FPS, Lags when picturing with flash
Opinion:
This camera is a great camera for the people who don't know anything about picturing. It is one of the point and shoot camera. Very good for people who are new into digital pictures. The price is quite low for an 8 mega pixel camera.
This is not one of those sexy camera so the size is built to be held easily with two hands.
The only thing I don't like about this is the Frames per second in videoing. It is a little low so don't be surprised if you see blurred and pixelated movies.
The lagging thing is something that is very common in all Canon cameras. When you change modes and click to fast it may lag a little.
